For this assignment, you will be applying to work as a campaign manager for one of twocandidates in a 2022 U.S. House of Representatives general election. The first candidate is aRepublican incumbent. The second is a Democratic challenger. They are both looking for acampaign manager, so you may choose which candidate’s campaign you would like to run, andyou should target your proposed campaign plan to one or the other (as opposed to applying forboth positions).As part of the application, your task in this assignment is to write 600 to 800 words laying outyour plan for the candidate’s campaign. In 2010 the two-party vote share for the incumbent Republican House member was60%. In 2016 it was 55%, and by 2020 the vote share for the Repubican was only 52%,with Democratic candidate Joe Biden actually narrowly winning the district at thepresidential level.? In recent years, the district has been trending toward greater racial and ethnic diversity,roughly mirroring the demographics of the U.S. overall.? Recent economic developments have also attracted slightly more young people andcollege graduates to the district in recent years.? Many small businesses, restaurants and retail shops operate within this district, and theeconomy has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic.?
