The preschool developmental stage comprises children aged between three and five who adequately refine their motor skills. Safety education is essential, especially to the parents and the caregivers of the children who are susceptible to the condition. Safety education is a strategy focused on involving patients and families in critical care. Creating awareness among the family and society is the best option to control pediatric diseases’ effects. A nursing diagnosis is a clinical assessment and judgment that concerns humans’ response to health conditions or the susceptibility towards the family, individual, group, or society to potential health problems/complications. Since the children involved in the safety education comprises preschool children between three and five years old, some of the nursing diagnoses will address oxygenation needs, nutritional and hydration needs since they are essential in this specific development stage.

First, addressing the child’s oxygenation needs will include a diagnosis for the risk of suffocation, diagnosis of improper breathing patterns, and impaired gas exchange. Secondly, addressing the child’s nutritional needs will involve nursing diagnosis, including interruption in breastfeeding and imbalanced nutrition that is generally below the body’s requirements. Finally, addressing the child’s hydration needs will involve nursing diagnosis for deficient fluid volume, risk of imbalance in electrolytes, and the danger of dysfunctional motility in the gastrointestinal.
