Coordination and administration
The hospital would need to incorporate a Hospital Incident Response Unit that would be mandated to keep the organization up to date through regular exercises and drills in order to be appropriately prepared to respond to any disaster and the misfortunes that it brings forth. Again, the hospital should think about designating a space for disaster management. The hospital will make available the necessary resources to guarantee that the HIRS operates effectively. In the event of a disaster, this would be a public space with effective communication and safety apparatus where information could be distributed (Perry & Lindell, 2003). The management should also coordinate the staff’s training and drills to ensure that, at the very least, everyone is prepared to respond to and manage a disaster when it occurs.

It is crucial that Saint Leo University Hospital implements a suitable command and control system so that emergency situations inside the hospital setting may be responded to quickly. The hospital can then decide whether to activate the Incident Command Group (ICG), which will be tasked with providing guidance about hospital-based emergencies (Paton, 2003). In order to improve coordination and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, there should also be a Hospital Disaster Management Committee (HDMC).
Maintaining services
It is crucial that the hospital continues to provide its clients with high-quality services or, at the least, carry out its daily operations even while it is in the process of developing a disaster preparedness and response plan. The availability of a sizable and skilled workforce will improve this. It must also take into account its own safety and security concerns, as maintaining employee safety at the firm must be the first step in the crisis management process. In order to address all organizational equality challenges, the university hospital will have to create a security team (Burns, Bradley, & Weiner, 2012). To increase overall effectiveness, the security team and the ICG will need to collaborate. The organization should outline the safety and security precautions that must be made available to all parties involved, as well as the advantages of maintaining them.
