Comparing and Contrasting the Mission and Vision Statements of Different Schools
Public School District PSJA ISD
Vision: “To promote prosperity across generations, every PSJA student is prepared to compete, participate, and excel in a global society.” Mission Statement: “As one PSJA family, we build on our legacy of academic excellence, renowned college and career readiness, biliteracy and extracurricular programs, and our multicultural heritage to ensure every student has the experiences and resources necessary to achieve the highest levels of success.”
(Charter School) Vanguard Academy
Vanguard Academy’s vision and mission are to give kids “A Purpose in Life and A Reason for Learning” in a welcoming and secure atmosphere. The goal of Vanguard Academy is to prepare students for success in their post-secondary education, to develop good study habits and work ethics, to prepare students for success in the workplace, and to instill in students a sense of responsibility and decency.
Vanguard Academy will encourage pupils to have strong moral character and to develop positive self-esteem. The highest academic standards are prioritized at Vanguard Academy, and pupils are also allowed to showcase their special abilities.
Reading these two vision and mission statements has led me to conclude that academics and technology are important to both public and charter school districts to support kids’ future career ambitions. Preparing students to be tech-savvy is an excellent first step in assisting students to develop as resourceful young adults. I adore how eager both institutions are for their students to achieve academic success. I understand from Vanguard Academy’s vision and purpose statements that they desire to assist students in succeeding academically and developing strong moral principles and artistic abilities. As a prospective teacher, it is crucial to keep pupils on task while also helping them to enjoy learning. However, as a mother, academics, and school should come first. While my children participate in extracurricular sports and activities, the primary goal of a school should be to foster and encourage academic performance. I am sure many parents would concur; however, many parents prefer a well-rounded school. PSJA appeals to me more since it persuades me that academic success is important.
