I chose a quote Freire retrieved from Footnote #4: Fromm, op. cit. p. 41, stating that “While life is characterized by growth in a structured functional manner, the necrophilous person loves all that does not grow, all that is mechanical. I think this quote is purposed to provide insights to the meaning and aim of the current education system which aims at serving the oppressors than students. It explains the selfish gains of the educators and creators of education. Also, I regard this quote important because it explains the nature of education, characteristics of students and their teachers, nature of teaching, and what is expected from the students being taught.
